Guest guest
Hey Christine, TVP is not meant to be used plain, but it does taste delicious in soyburgers, as a replacement for minced meat in lasagna and is yummy in loaves (there is a recipe for a soy TVP and cashew loaf in the files section). Don't know what king of TVP you get in the States, over here it comes as dry flakes so I usually pour boiling water over it, add tamari sauce, garlic granules, chives and onion powder and let it soak up all the flavors. Then I just use it as I would use ground (minced) meat. Also, as I recall, Kathleen says it is okay to eat one serving of soy a day, so I see no reason why you shouldn't use TVP as a protein source. If you use soy pp for breakfast, simply have something else on days when you plan to have soy TVP for lunch or dinner.
