Guest guest
Ok, so guess what, we are updating the food page on the Radiant Recovery site and we are adding a special section for vegetarians! Awesome, eh? And the best part about it is we get to say what’s on it, because what better place to get tips for vegetarians then here . So I was wondering if you had any tips for how you do the food as a vegetarian. For example: 1) what emergency meals do you keep on hand 2) what do you do when you travel 3) how do you make sure you get enough protein 4) etc and etc… Anyone have something you’d like to share?? Guest guest
Recently I was travelling. Dianne from Diabetes group suggested this to me. Fruit. After about 15 minutes triscuits and cheese sticks. She found triscuits necessary. I found this to be very good diet when travelling in greyhound bus. I also had about 1/4 cup of salted soya nuts for snacking. I have found that Soya nuts do remove sweet and nut craving. For proteins I prepare stew of sprouted beans / lentils / cottage cheese. I add about half cup of fruit yogurt to stew. Guest guest
Some thoughts: I usually need a few different protein sources to get enough. So I tend to think in terms of " add ons: " I can add an egg, or some cheese, or some nuts, etc. to my meal to bump up the protein. For the most part, I actually count protein grams. I don't really have emergency meals because I plan my meals in two week chunks and do all the grocery shopping in advance BUT I suppose my emergency snack is peanut butter and whole wheat bread. I'm going to start a separate reply for " quick meals " because I bet we can get a good list of those. Guest guest
Hi Shellie. I have about 3/4 cup of cottage cheese for breakfast (21 grams of protein) with some pineapple chunks and whole wheat toast.
