Guest guest
Hi everyone. I have never posted on this list but have been reading it for awhile. I am beginning step 3 and have developed a real aversion to chicken and red meat. I can't explain it but the idea of eating either of those for my lunch/dinner protein makes my skin crawl. Maybe its because I always feel so congested after I eat them. (YAY for my journal providing information). I haven't been a vegetarian in the past, but I've never loved meat. My staples have been pasta and cheese and dessert, none of which are dense proteins. I love fish and eggs but can't imagine eating and/or cooking them for every meal. I can't do tree nuts or peanuts or sesame seeds because my daughter is severely allergic. I am looking for ideas for lunch and dinner foods (I need 30g of protein per meal) that don't include meat or chicken or nuts. . . Of course, I'm looking for easy options because I'm more likely to stick with the program if the food is easy to do. BTW, I love breakfast and have been regular for three months--mocha protein shake, wg bread or waffles, crunchy soy butter. Any ideas for me? Guest guest
Hi Sara, welcome! There are a few recipes in the “files” section of this site. It’d be a good thing to check out while you wait for other’s to reply . Heather On Behalf Of raraavisinflight May 02, 2006 10:26 AM easy vegie meals--lunch & dinner Hi everyone. Guest guest
Hi Sara! I know just how you feel! I am so sick of meat and cheese right now! I used to be a vegetarian and even though I eat meat now I still prefer vegetarian food. There is just the problem of getting enough protein for the program. My suggestion is that you check out some vegetarian cookbooks and look for recipies that include beans, lentils, tofu (and other soy products), quorn or peas. They usually have enough protein. If you don't have one and don't want to buy one you can check your library. I just joined this group and the program, but I have had a lot of help from these. The only problem is they might need to be modified if they contain e.g honey, white flour or other non-program-friendly foods, when you get to step 6. You could also google vegetarian recipies or search the internet any other way. There are a lot of recipies on the web! Best of luck! Lisa , " raraavisinflight " <s- sfoster wrote: > > Hi everyone.
