Ok, so you win some experiments, you lose

some LOL. This morning I tried putting cooked steel cut oats in my shake, and

I think I put too much, because the shake is soooo thick that I just can't

stomach finishing it LOL. I brought it on my commute, and into my office, and

all I keep thinking is " please no, not another sip " LOLOLOL. I'm

going to try the cooked steel cut oats again, but maybe half as much (I used a

whole cup of them).

So that's my update!

Heather, I use 1/3 cup of dry oats in my morning shake. That is 1 serving of oats. Another idea would be to have the oatmeal seperately instead of putting them in the shake. I'm wondering if coocking them first is the thing that is giving you a problem. The dry oats just pulverize up in the blender, but I think cooking oats first then putting it in the shake, I wouldn't like the texture. Just a thought.

HI Patty, I’ve done cooked oatmeal

with regular oats in my shake and I love it. I was trying to experiement with

cooked *steel cut* oats this time

around :). I’ve found that having just raw oats in my shake doesn’t

hold me as long, so I was trying out new options.

And yah, the texture is definitely different,

but I actually enjoy it!

I think my problem was the amount of

cooked steel cut oats I used LOL. Live and learn!

Thanks for your help!

Heather,

You are welcome. I know if I have a long time before lunch, I will have a big scoop of peanut butter, or a chunk of cheese along with my shake for breakfast.

You know, I tried Peanut Butter in my

shake and didn’t care for it. But I have at times had some on toast with

my shake (and no oats in the shake), and I like that. I just love that there

are so many options for breakfast.
