Guest guest
Hello to all, I am new to this list and have been reading the emails all about the Ranch experience. It sounds wonderful. Where is it and when is the next time it is being offered? I have been a vegetarian for several years and have been considering transitioning to vegan but it seems like such a big leap! ...much more difficult than being a straight vegetarian. I recently attended a 4 night cooking class sponsored by the Cancer Project where we watched a renowned chef, Chef Sualua, cook up about 4-5 recipes each night and then shared dinner together. The recipes were marvelous and I would love to share some of them with you. Looking forward to "meeting" similar minded folk with sugar sensitivities. This ability to connect with you is a gift. Guest guest
Hi everyone, I'm also a Rancher and love this list! Ranch was definitely the highlight of my year this year! Look forward to learning from the experienced people. In talking to Val at Ranch, I discovered I feel much the same way in terms of wanting to do more vegetarian meals and knowing as well that my body really thrives on the animal protein. I know my brekkies are vegetarian, and I am trying to work in a few veggie meals a week. I don't think I'll completely abandon animal protein, but I can incorporate healthful and balanced vegetarian meals. So I look forward to sharing this journey with you all. Guest guest
Lucinda, Some of the time is cool, that's how it started with me. Just give it a go and see how you feel. Guest guest
Hi Jo Ann, well the next Ranch is this fall in Ireland! Don't know if I'll be making that one . but still, it would be fun! The regular Ranch is every May in New Mexico. We love sharing recipes here, so if they are program friendly, share away!! So glad to have you here Heather on behalf of roadrunna4 Sun 5/14/2006 4:20 PM Re: Back from Ranch too Hello to all, I am new to this list and have been reading the emails all about the Ranch experience. Guest guest
Hi Lucinda: I am in exactly the same place you are with this. Today I made a recipe called Greek Style picnic salad and it had garbanzo beans, feta cheese etc as well as brown rice, spinach, olives, sun dried tomatoes etc. and felt like I got close to enough protein. I love veges and am interested in getting more of these type of recipes so that I can cut back on meat for protein. I have basically been off of red meat for 2+ years and I know that it has been better for my heart since I have heart disease. I have a friend who has breast cancer and the first thing our Dr. did was to put her on a vegan diet.
