Guest guest
I checked my pantry and then for fun went to all my favorite grocers to read labels. This is as best as I could get. A few discrepancies between Heathers list and what I found were for natural peanut butter, I found it at 10g per 2 tbsp. also frozen edamame values vary with company, eg 8-12.. Also, I found dried pulses seemed to have higher values than canned (cooked) of the same kinds. And canned beans varied between companies. Here is a list of some of my favorites and interesting things I found. (Thanks for the grams to ounce conversion guys!) P.S. I will post two of my favorite recipes in the files if I can figure out how: Lemon Grill Tempeh & Crispy Sesame Tofu. ~Tina Vegetarian Protein Sources, the Add-on list, Faux Dairy 1.0 g Tofutti `Better than Sour Crème' - 2 Tbsp (small amt sugar) 7.0 g Silk Unsweetened Organic Soymilk, 1 cup 9.0 g Trader Joe's Unsweetened Organic Soymilk, 1 cup 9.0 g West Soy Unsweetened Organic Soymilk, 1 cup (includes Original, Vanilla, & Chocolate Flavors) 12.0 g Eden Soy Unsweetened Organic Soymilk, 1 cup 11.0 g Wildwood Unsweetened Plain `SOYogurt', 1 cup 2.0 g Vegan grated soy topping, parmesan flavor, 2 tsp 8.0 g Nutritional Yeast (Red Star Vegetarian Support Formula) Powder, ~1 heaping Tbsp MiniFlakes, ~1 ½ Tbsp Large Flake, ~2 Tbsp Pulses 7.0 g Great Northern Beans – cooked, 1/2 cup 5.0 g Butter Beans – cooked, 1/2 cup 6.0 g Cannellini Beans – cooked, 1/2 cup 6.0 g Pinto Beans – cooked, 1/2 cup 4.0 g Lima Beans – cooked, 1/2 cup 10.0 g Fava Beans - cooked, 1/2 cup 6.0 g Black Eyed Peas – cooked, 1/2 cup 6.0 g Crowder Peas – cooked, 1/2 cup 4.0 g Sweet Peas – canned, 1/2 cup 9.0 g Whole Green, White Peas – raw (dried), 1/4 cup 12.0 g Black Gram - raw, 1/2 cup 15.0 g Mung Beans – raw, 1/2 cup 11.0 g Cranberry Beans – raw, 1/4 cup 6.0 g Horse Gram – raw, 1/2 cup 10.0 g Pidgeon Pea - raw, 1/2 cup 8.0 g Red, Black Lentils - raw, 1/4 cup 13.0 g Green, French Lentils - raw, 1/4 cup 12.0 g Green, Yellow Split Peas – raw, 1/4 cup Flour Products 4.0 g Arrowhead Mills Whole Wheat Pastry Flour, 1/3 cup 5.0 g Arrowhead Mills Stoneground Whole Wheat Flour, 1/4 cup 5.0 g Arrowhead Mills Vital Wheat Gluten, 1 Tbsp Faux `Meat' 19.0 g Lightlife Organic Tempeh - 3-grain, 4 oz. 22.0 g - Soy, 4 oz. 22.0 g - Garden Veggie, 4 oz. 20.0 g - Flax, 4 oz. 8.0 g Lightlife Gimme Lean Sausage Style, Gr. Guest guest
Well this is just wonderful, thank you!!! I’m going to add most of them (basically everything but the milks, since those aren’t dense enough proteins). As soon as they are in the list, I’ll add it here to the files section so we can access the list whenever we need to.
