Guest guest
Shelly is absolutely correct. We are beseiged with propaganda from the dairy and mean factories telling us we not protein, protein, and more protein. Nothing can be further from the truth. Protein cannot be stored in the body, and excess amounts of it (the SAD Standard American Diet provides four times the needed protein) must be disposed of in the kidneys and through the workings of the liver. When the liver gets too much protein, it converts it to amonia, which is a poison -- you will smell amonia in your urine when this happens. When your kidneys get too much protein, it converts it to uric acid, which then goes into the blood stream, and you don't want acids in your blood either, since it will disolve the calcium in your bones, making them subject to osteoporosis. Uric acid also causes gout. None of these things are good for you, and neither is excess protein. For some reason, the same people who have been hypnotized by the food factories into believing they can't get too much protein, also have no idea that all vegetables provide protein. Only fruit does not. And of course we need enzymes and minerals as Shelly says. Food cooked above 117 F has no enzymes left, since these are killed by heat at that or higher temperatures. __________________________ __ __________________________ ___ Message: 2 Tue, 07 Dec 1999 15:06:42 -0600 Shelly Graham <songbird Re:protein Betsy, Sorry I don't have time to look up the chart - Mother's milk - the time in our lives we need the most protein - is very low in protein. I wish I was good at memory work! Anyway, most salads would provide you more protein than MM. An avocado or a 1/4 cup of nuts is plenty of protein a day! When I get more time I will type out that info. for you. Eat much of your diet raw so you will get the enzymes and minerals you need.
