Guest guest
I was just thinking about you and how you are doing. I was happy to see your post. Jim has told us about some New Wave Seitan that is like 26 or so grams of protein. (Jim?) It's in the files here. I looked up seitan and was disappointed for my daughter to find it is wheat gluten. She is gluten intolerant and that was looking like it would be so great. If you handle gluten, it looks a perfect protein source. I have been using www.fitday.com which is a free place you can post your food and it breaks it down as to calories but also protein, carbs and fats. What is surprising to me is that I am getting more protein than I am thinking and why it works out that way I'm not sure. There must be protein in whole grain bread or some other places? Guest guest
Hello! Thanks Janice and Bob, for your advice. Janice, how sweet to read that you were thinking of me and how I am doing! I have checked out the list by Heather - must have overlooked that in the past! Foggy brain you know! I shall keep a look out for this Seitan I am hearing so much about. Haven't come across it yet -live in UK - will ask at local health food store - not very good one I'm afraid. As far as I'm aware, don't have problem with gluten. Things become even more complicated when you're allergic to certain foods! Many thanks again guys. Best wishes, Irenie , " Janice " <escapeartist88 wrote: > > I was just thinking about you and how you are doing. Guest guest
Janice, there are small amounts of protein in many foods, and grains are one of them, so it’s possible you see some from your bread Heather On Behalf Of Janice Saturday, June 17, 2006 10:52 AM To: Irenie I was just thinking about you and how you are doing.
