Guest guest
Went to a Beach BBQ yeasterday in Malabu, Paradise Cove. It was a very lovely setting. It was blazing hot where I live 8 miles away 104. At the beach it was only 85. The water temp felt like it was freezing. Getting down to Food: I overplanned. I ate motz cheese and tomatoes along with 2 slices of whole wheat toast before going. Was not counting on any Program Friendly or Veggy Options. Turns out that of the 35 people there 6 of us were vegetarians. Wound up speaking with 3 of the Vegetarians for about an hour. Further snacked on some cheese and boca burgers. They also had shrimp and tofu dogs too. I really overplanned. All I would have had to have brought would have been some browns. Enjoy, Bob
Guest guest
Hi Bob, I've had the same thing happen to me, but I don't consider it overplanning at all. The one time I will count on some veggie options somewhere is the one time there will be NONE. It never fails. I wish I could let go of the sense that I *have* to eat available veggie options as a show of my appreciation for their being there. I end up overeating, and even if it's all program food, overeating still doesn't feel good. Sharon --- Bob <yogabob7 wrote: Getting down to Food: I really overplanned. Guest guest
Sharon, The other thing which works for me is to have " Shelf Stable " protein and brown options in my car. We basically live in our cars in S/Cal. So I have multiple individual bags of protein powder, bags of shredded wheat, bags of triscuits in my trunk. I also have vitamens in my glove box. Something alway's comes up and when I need it my food is almost always available. It's shelf stable so it's alway's going to be good. Once again overplanning to keep my body chemistry stable. These also make good disaster food, were alway's having fires (3) this weekend, and earth movement (every 7 min). Kind of funny a MD about 8 years ago told me it does not matter what you eat. Yeh right!!! LOL, Bob , Sharon Wylie <swylie2002 wrote: > > Hi Bob, > > I've had the same thing happen to me, but I don't > consider it overplanning at all. Guest guest
I've found for this reason, it's better to bring my own food, rather than eating beforehand. That way, if appropriate food is available, and I like it better than what I packed, I can eat that instead. And if not, I'm prepared.
