Guest guest
Several times a year find myself in an Ice Cream Store/Shop. On the West Coast they are called Stores. On the East Coast they are called Shops. They could be a Baskin Robbins, Fosters Freeze, Dairy Queen, Carvel, TCBY, etc... they all sell the same stuff. This week where I live it hit 110 degrees, and will remain at this temperture for the next several days. There are lines at these stores/shops.... Alway's find myself getting pulled in by a co-worker, dw, dd, or some other stupid reason. I know what I do when inside. Was wondering what your game plan is when you get into the same situation??? Let's share notes. Bob
Guest guest
Bob, before I left the Northwest, there were a couple of times when I'd be with my friends at this one particular Ice Cream Shoppe where they made their own ice cream in house. I'd go with them for the company, and order herbal tea to sip while they had their sugar bombs. It never bothered me and nobody made a fuss. If I'd had my druthers I'd have lobbied for the Starbucks down the street, but in everybody's mind this place was Special (and truly, it was, even if you don't eat ice cream, LOL!) It was always fine. Val , " Bob " <yogabob7 wrote: > Alway's find myself getting pulled in by a co-worker, dw, dd, or some other stupid reason. I > know what I do when inside. Guest guest
It is one of my delights as an RR-er to order absolutely nothing at a place like that. I just watch everyone else drug themselves and pitch their money down the drain. My pleasure comes from remembering the times when I couldn't even walk by such a place. I remember once eating half a tub of ice cream IN THE CAR because I couldn't wait until I got home. No more. Guest guest
Val, I would not have taken you to an Ice Cream Shoppe. I did enjoy getting hot and cold decaf tea with you at Ranch this year. It was really nice trying a decaf cold beverage to break up the routine for me. Also now that it's blazing hot a nice cold decaf drink is very refreshing with a slice of orange, yummmmmm.
