Good Morning,

Just wanted to check in with you to see how your food program is going? Please

chime into

the group on a reply.

I've had several e-mails sent directly to me, please send all replys to the

group.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for asking! My program has been very tumultous

since I started Step 3 one and a half months ago. But

I truly believe it is starting to smooth out now. I

have felt that before, but I feel steadier now.

Before I was more *wishing* it would smooth out.

<smile>

Moving sweets, from snacks to mealtimes, was very hard

for me. At first it seemed to prime me into binging

and grazing in the afternoon (where before that, it

had been snacking). I felt very upset about binging

and grazing again, and the extra sugar was very taking

physically, mentally and emotionally.

*But*, great news! I finally turned a corner, and

now, not only have I stopped binging and grazing, but

I also have stopped desiring a sweet snack in the

afternoons, for the first time in my life! It feels

wonderfully strange and liberating! Today for my

afternoon snack I had a hard boiled egg on whole grain

bread with butter. I still had a bit of juice and tea

with some milk and honey, so as to not detox too

quicly from the sugar.

Thanks for asking, and giving me a chance to share

about where I'm at.

BTW, I made a black bean salad, from dried beans. I

added to it, fresh herbs, lemon olive oil vinaigrette,

tomatoes and avocados. It tasted okay on its own.

But it tasted great in a whole grain tortilla with

melted cheese! I've been wanting to cook dried beans

for quite some time, as it gives you a better chance

to control the texture. The beans were still a bit

mushier than I would have liked, but that's okay.

Hopefully I'll be cooking dried beans more often!

Hey, Bob.

Good post. My RR program is going just fine. Have been steady on the

food for several years. There are, however, always aspects of my

program that can use some fine-tuning. Like I mentioned in an earlier

post, my current work is on refining and focusing on step 2. I am

really enjoying my journal and the process of paying attention to my

body.

Thank you for asking!

Hi Lis,

It's alway's nice hearing from you. The power of Journaling is so Huge. It

does take

constant fine-tuning and can even be fun as well.

Also really like the idea of paying attention to one's body. This concept is

Great, new

respect for the body which supports us 24/7.

Lis, what lessons have you recently learned about fine tuning your program?

I'll share a recent discovery of mine, I found that I needed more sleep. Was

averaging 7

hours sleep and made a decision to stop watching the 10-11pm programing on TV

and

get at least 8 hours. Feel really good and have even more energy as a result,

yeah for

more energy.....

Let us know,

Tania,

Overall sounds like your doing really well, congradulations on Step #3

" smoothing out " .

It's amazing how we can transition to eating healthy snacks which are really

good for us.

Really enjoyed hearing that Binging and Grazing are " Out of Here " . That's so

wonderful,

your starting to feel one of the freedoms of the program, where the food is

losing it's

sugar grip on you = Awesome.

Trying to make Black Bean's from scratch is a new adventure and you turned it

into a

Fiesta!!!! There are so many wonderful foods to explore. My 1st 3 years on the

program

made a promise to try at least 1 new Program Friendly food per week. There are

so many

more things to have = lot's more to look forward to!!!!!!!

Keep up the Good Work (Smile)....

Hmmm, what I'm learning now through paying attention to my body is

not food-related, but still program-related.

Lately, I've been having consistent pain in my left knee, because my

left leg is tight and I haven't been able to keep it stretched

enough. After my morning jog, I wrote too many times in my journal:

L knee hurt, L leg tight.

My workouts are not excessive by any means - I am careful to be

gentle with my body and increase workout times slowly. I love

keeping my BE-level up through exercise. But I finally had to decide

to put the jogging on hold for now, and work on getting and keeping

that leg stretched.

So, how is that program-related? It's all about balance and

moderation, two words that were foreign to my life 5 years ago. The

healing of my biochemistry through doing the food has brought me the

ability to seek balance in my life. Not that I always choose

balance, but it is something that I am more and more able to do. It

has also brought me self-respect, which I am only recently starting

to realize how much it was missing from my pre-PNP life.

I'm sorry that this is not related to vegetarian food or any food! I

understand if you can't post it. But my food is very steady, so the

things I learn in my journal are more about respecting my body in new

ways and the importance of listening to it in general. Those are the

lessons I am learning at the moment from the process of fine-tuning

my journaling and therefore my program.

Thanks for asking, Bob!

Lis,

I've walked in your shoes before: was a runner too trying to keep my *BE's* up

while doing

the food/program. What I found for my body via *journaling* was that running

for my

body was " slightly " destructive. Instead of running 5 days a week, now run 1

day a week

to help stay in shape. By keeping my food steady and as you said via *balance*

found

other less destructive forms of exercise, to complement my life/program.
