Scrambled Eggs

Aloha,

I just got back from vacation in Hawaii. Went out to breakfast almost everyday.

At the

second restaurant my scrambled eggs did " not taste right " . Prior to the program

would have

wolfed them down and no even questioned it. Turns out after talking with the

cook that the

eggs are scrambled in leftover grease from cooking the bacon. Needless to say

that was the

last time I ordered scrambled eggs while on the islands. Thank goodness I had

my protein

powder with me on the trip, it was real helpful.

I just can't stand it when cooks add bacon (or bacon fat) to things where it

simply does not

belong. Has anything like this every happened to you?

Just wondering

Bob

Sure! Restaurants adding bacon, cheese, etc. to salads or baked

potatoes or vegetables when there was no mention of it on the menu as

an added topping or ingredient. Total pet peeve. Or adding bonito to

a miso broth that they insist is still vegetarian. Or not being able

to tell you whether or not what they prepared is vegetarian or vegan.

And too often, especially at asian take-outs, they don't speak enough

english answer food/ingredient questions or requests for

modifications. Happens all the time, unfortunately.

It's a kind of fish, I think it might be a variety of tuna but I'm not sure.
