Guest guest
How many of you all start the day with a shake? For the 1st time have been adding fruit, started with apples, now worked my way up to blueberry's. I've also found with this change a need to change up my workout process. After my shake today went to the local pool ($2.00) @ 6:30am and went for a good workout swim. To break-up the bordom of lap swimming I focus on breathing into the energy centers (Chakara's) of the body, with this breathing the whole process becomes a meditation for me. Also nothing like watching the sun rise while swimming laps, that's a good BE Raiser for me. Prior to the program would not live " in the moment " and only claimed to have time for work, work, work. It's nice to start the day off with the shake, meditation/breathwork, & swim. Just wanted to share. Bob
Guest guest
I use a shake for breakfast most days, unless there's another meal I need to eat on the run, in which case I use a shake for that meal. I add a small piece of banana and some berries. Allison >Bob <yogabob7 >Oct 3, 2006 10:53 AM > > Morning Shake > >How many of you all start the day with a shake? Guest guest
Yes, I too often start the day with a shake, though (as I said on the main list) I sometimes have to carry the blender outside to the deck as I get up much earlier than the rest of my family and the noise would otherwise wake them. I use 1/2 banana - that's normally my fruit for the day. More than 1/2 banana is a trigger for me. Guest guest
Hi Bob! I start almost every day with a shake. It's the simplest, fastest and tastiest breakfast I know and it holds me real well until lunch. My favorite is made with one banana, half a lemon and quite a lot of yoghurt to balance the sweet banana. Wonderful! I had a real craving for lemon for a while but then I increased my vitamin c and it went away. I still like the taste though. Could you tell me a little more about breathing into chakras? I know a little about chakras from yoga class and I'm curious if I can use that in my running. Maybe this is not the right forum for talk about exercise, but I'd really like to know more! Guest guest
Gail, You take your blender to the outside deck, that is so thoughtful of you.... I also understand exactly what your saying about no more then 1/2 a banana, same thing for me too, that's so cool. Thanks for being an active team member.... Guest guest
Lisa, " A BIG WELCOME " to the group. I just love the idea of adding lemon and yogurt to the shake, I'm a lemon fan, yummmmm, I'm going to try it to, something new = Awesome.... Let's see when I swim a lap, takes apx 50 strokes up and back per lap, 36 laps, 1800 breaths (per mile). So if I were running would take 257 breaths into each Chakara, for all 7 of them, see how you feel...... I'm 100% sure that breathwork into chakaras (meditation) are a BE Raiser. In fact we did meditation @ Ranch this year and it was so cool, Kitty was just Great. Smile, Bob , " Lisa " <avanai wrote: > > Hi Bob! > I start almost every day with a shake. Guest guest
Hello -- I'm a morning 'shaker' too! I mix soy protein, juice, oatmeal, water and usually some fruit. I'm going to try the yogurt -- that sounds great. I'm still trying to get it in during the first hour after getting up. Usually it's closer to two hours, after I've walked the dog, meditated, showered and pawed through the closet looking for something that doesn't need ironing... Maybe I should squeeze it in somewhere between the dog and the shower! Cindy
Guest guest
I let the dogs out, feed the cats and dogs, then feed myself. Meditation, shower etc come after breakfast. And finding an outfit is much easier when my blood sugar isn't crashing - none of that standing vacant eyed in front of the closet, unable to make a decision.
