Hi Karen, stress is something which i am very familiar, partly because i work with people who are very very stressed (and do stress and anxiety management courses with them) and partly because i experience a great deal of stress and anxiety myself and am always looking for new and better ways to deal with it. I guess, at work stress is kind of my specialist subject so its pretty hard to believe i find it hard to deal with myself! But anyway, here are the links i mentioned to sites on journaling: http://www.hercorner.com/ (look at the section titled " personal " ) http://www.spies.com/~diane/journals.html http://www.shpm.com/articles/health/journal.html this is the one about journaling to improve your health) I hope this is useful, if you want anymore information about anything related to stress or coping strategies to deal with it feel free to mail me on or off list, Laura

Therefore it would be appropriate to post that kind of stuff here. I've known how many calories is in a hardboiled egg since I was put on my first diet at the age of 10 (I am now 53). I already know what is appropriate and inappropriate to eat, I need methods to control inappropriate eating and stress management sounds like a potential tool for that. Guest guest
Hi Bob, Thanks for the support. I have been a natural food vegetarian for 15 years. So the 7 steps were very close to what I was already doing. I just needed a shift, not an overall. I agree and see the importance of the journal and cannot wait to have the energy for it. Writing a thesis is all I have energy in terms of writing now (except a course a few emails). But I look forward to more of the journal work in a couple of months. Thesis writing is intense. But I do have one question about journals. When do most complete the journal? Do you take it along with you if you eat away from home? What do you do if you missed completing it for a meal or two, then realized it the next day? Thanks, Deanna
Guest guest
Deanna, Your welcome. I remember the feelings of being back in school. Alway's felt like I had to put my life on hold to get all my work done. Then there were the Engineering Students which I don't thing they even took the time out to shower, for months LOL. I also remember the Architectural students alway's being in that square building with intense lighting being on for what seamed to be 24 hours a day (wonder if they slept at their desk). Being a Natual Food Vegetarian for 15 years is really big. Lot's of my " non program veggy friends " eat so many coverts as well as lot's of whites & just plain sugar. There are also some people that feel they have already done this program, b/4 they got here = simply not true (my opinion). How can someone heal, before they have done the work? The Journal: Energy, having the energy to do something is directly linked to getting the right amount of protein to feed the brain. Taking the extra 10-12 min a day to journal is no big deal. Keeping the journal in your purse or brief case may be a good idea. The best journal is available through the Radiant Recovery Store, it's very compact and easy to use. I also like the words of encouragement for the day. When I first started the program, I journaled after every meal. Wanted to get the program right and stay on track 100%, BTW still do. I reflected at the end of every day exactly how I felt. If I were engaged in writing a thesis, would journal 100% of the time to get the most out of every day. The clarity which unfolds from this program is amazing. Being present and active is a cool steady state to live in. If you have missed a meal or two, just try to wrap it up that evening, keep the day current. Putting a little more energy into journaling is worth it's weight in Platnum.
