Guest guest
Hi! I was referred to this group by someone in my breakfast group. I have been on Step 1 for 6 days. Yea!! Anyway, here are my questions: 1. In the journal grains are not counted as a protein - yet, the list gives the protein amounts for rice, oats, etc. Do we ever count them as a protein?? 2. Can I count raw almond butter as a protein for the morning breakfast? 3. May I count seeds as a protein? Thanks so much for the list........it's great!!! And thanks for your answers.... Guest guest
Vicky, Welcome to the Group. You made me reflect back to my first week. I was working at Universal Studios and would eat one of 2 things (1) Tuna Sandwhich, (2) Small Container of Cottage Cheese, these were to only two options open to me as I was getting my food from the " Snack Shop " on the lot. So to answer your questions: I was wondering if your a vegetarian, if so depending on your weight you may have to eat lot's of 1, 2, & 3 outlined in your post. If you not a vegetarian, you might want to start out with more dense proteins available to you. On a personal not I've never counted grains, or oats as protein, rather a brown. Raw almond butter I would count this as a protein, but I try not to eat anymore then 20 almonds per servicing. I've alway's been really careful with seeds (sunflower) they don't have much protein but they do pack on the pounds, for my body. Gosh when I first started did not engage the shake. If I were just now starting out I'd be using the Georges Shake almost every day. Good Luck with the Program and feel free to ask away. Bob e. , " Vicky " <health4him wrote: > > Hi! I just put eggs back in my diet since beginning this program. I will probably turn to eating cottage cheese and soy products more than I really like to but, that okay. > > > I was wondering if your a vegetarian, I am 90 pounds overweight and have lost 45 this past year by juicing and eating 85% raw. However, I knew that the diet had too many grains and too much sugar. I notice that with raw enthusiasts they really enjoy sugar. So, I need alot of protein for breakfast and I have only been drinking a green drink and carrot juice for breakfast this past year. if so depending on your weight What do you mean by " lots of 1,2, & 3 outlined in your post? " you may have to eat lot's of 1, 2, & 3 outlined in your post. You are right about the almonds. I really watch them. And I drink George's shake everyday. Thanks for all your help!
