i like your list of browns...i haven't tried the mary's gone crackers...if i remember correctly they can be purchased at whole foods? there is a whole foods in annapolis that i may visit tomorrow. i try to avoid it because i end up buying so much! i tend to impulse buy in the lotion/candle/yoga isle. i love that stuff. my favorite browns are: baked blue corn chips from trader joes, whole barley brown rice garbanzos black beans potatoes quiona (sp?) i'm trying to diversify a little bit, i tend to get in a rut with my food and i'll eat the same thing over and over again.

another favorite brown of mine is similar to a recipe that is in kathleen's cookbook. i take a butternut squash (bake it or i guess that can be microwaved as well) and a baked yam, then i mix them together in a food processor with cinnamon and nutmeg. i suspect maple flavoring can be added as well as butter. i'm trying to cut back on calories so i try to add less butter than i'd like. i've served this to non sugar sensitive people and the response has been anywhere from "yuck" to "interesting". haha...i suspect people in this community would be more fond of it.

Sharon,

Have not tried the TJ Blue Corn Chips and I have not made the Whole Barley

(sounds good).

I will check both of these out this week. With the weather getting colder,

Barley seams like

a really timely Brown to have on hand.

Thank you,

Bob

Sharon,

Sounds yummy. Last night I made Acorn Squash added a little butter, dash of

vanilla

extract, and pumpkin pie spice mix. My non RR family members tried it and gave

it a 7

out of 10. They said the missing ingrediant was sugar (LOL) = no way.

Have a Great Weekend,

Bob
