Guest guest
Hi Bob and Everyone! 1)I always enjoy your interesting posts! Just wondering, you have mentioned putting protein powder in your oatmeal. Do you do this while cooking, or mix it in after cooking? I was worried that the vitamins might be destroyed cooking it in, but that it might be too 'crunchy' just mixing it in? Does anyone else add protein powder to other foods? What do you add it to, and how do you prepare it? I am off for 6 days to the inlaws house. I will try to prepare my beans, etc ahead of time, but the protein powder may be all that saves me at this point! Thanks for advising! 2)I have to ask all the bean and lentil lovers a question- I love them too and want to eat them more often as I shift away from too much meat.... How do you deal with the gas? Does it get better over time? I mean does your body get used to eating beans everyday, and you have less trouble with gas/flatulence? Does anyone use products like Beano on a regular basis? Is it safe? Thanks!! Happy Holidays and New Year to all! Ruth
Guest guest
Ruth, I add protein powder to my oatmeal when it's done cooking. I stir it in. It alway's does the trick for me & I feel wonderful. Regarding gas, let's just say theres no shortage of it (LOL). Guest guest
Hi Ruth! I use protein powder in different foods if necessary. When I make oatmeal I mix it in when it's just finished. I really don't know if the vitamins get ruined by cooking them. Make sure to add a little extra water, since the pp can make it a bit dry. It's my experience that my body gets used to beans if I eat them often, but I don't eat them every day. I also throw out the water they soaked in, then once they boil I change that water too. Don't know how necessary it is, but I don't really have problems with gas. Good luck!
