Guest guest
Hello, Just to follow-up to what I posted last week: my detox that started on Sat. Jan 20th has now been completed and then some. YAY! For those who were concerned that maybe I was/am rushing the process: a bit of background. I read 'Potatos Not Prozac' in 1999 and largely changed my lifestyle and cleaned up my act at that time. THEN it was a huge shock to be eating breakfast. THEN it was a huge shock to change from whites to browns, to have three complete meals per day etc. This time it is mostly going back to what I was once knew and adding a few details and tightening things up. For example I'd never eaten the potato, my breakfast still had some sugar & not enough protein & I hadn't gotten support. What happenned was I slowly slipped back to eating whites and then somehow I ate sugar and then I rapidly became so outta control with that the three meals a day went bye bye and I was living in the full on roller coaster of sugar hell. For a LONG time. Too long. Way way way too long. I'm so glad I found SATRP and now am getting back on track. I'd forgotten so much about how I'd ever come to be sugar free in the first place and how powerful a drug it can be for me, distorting my thinking & feeling, my whole outlook on life. I've now had 9 days without it! YAY! YES! -Kathie
Guest guest
Great job, Kathie! I'm starting detox today. It feels great but a little scary. It feels like I'm taking yet another step away from " normal people " and their habits. At the same time I can't wait until I'm finally sugar free! Guest guest
Congratulations on the detox! I think Kathleen wrote somewhere that once your body experiences recovery that it will always want to go back to it. I think that once you're body has detoxed, everything else pretty much ends up as a learning experience. It seems that the more time you've spent without sugar, the more that is true. I've slipped off for awhile in the past, but I don't think I could ever go back to the way things were before and not want to do something about it. Guest guest
Kathie, Are you currently journaling? My journal was a Great Lifeline to navigating the program and answered many of the " rollercoaster " questions. Congradulations on your detox. What can we do to support you? Guest guest
Amy, Your statement about never going back to the way things were before is very accurate. Reality and balance are very crystal clear, to lose that, would be falling off the new life path I'm on. Life transitioned from a series of self imposed roadblocks to unlimited possibilities. I'll take the unlimited possibilities any day of the week. Nice to know that the program insures biochemical balance and enables us to deal with life and see the radiance and joy that life has to offer. Going back to the way things were before is possible but I choose to stick with this Awesome Program and wonderful group of people.
