Guest guest
Okay, I created a database for San Diego restaurants and added a couple of records so we can look at it. I think we should agree on the fields before we all start working. These are the fields I started with: name website or phone # street address city / area (i.e., downtown, north county, etc.) freeway and exit type of food (Indian, Italian, etc.) vegetarian, vegan, or omni sit down or take out types of browns types of proteins What do people think? We would probably want to come up with different fields for grocery stores. And probably even different fields for " on the road " locations (i.e., needing to be close to the freeway). You know what else would be good? If we created a little checklist people could take with them when they travel, and they could fill it out at each restaurant and grocery store, and then they could use the checklist to fill out the database when they got back. Guest guest
Very nice work, Sharon! May I suggest we add or include a price range, and more about the ambiance than sit down or take out? When I am travelling, there is a huge difference between where I would go by myself, and where I might take a client. A mention of a great dish or two is also a nice touch. And, oh, BTW - there are " freeways " only on the west coast. We're probably safe using " Interstate " but back east, they are " highways. Guest guest
> why not start it right here. > > Kathleen This is wonderful! However I know nothing about databases. But Ohio has a great site kept fairly current, put out by mercy for animals. It's called vegohio.com and lists restaurants (veg & vegan)/groceries/health food/co-ops by major city for the state, and its kept fairly current. I highly recommend it for those coming into my area. Guest guest
Umm, Kathleen, there is nothing that says Links section. There is Home, Messages (Post), Files, Photos, Database, Members, and Promote. Pardon me if I am completely daft, but I still don't know where you mean. , Kathleen DesMaisons <radiantkd wrote: > > go to the page, it is on the left hand side > > kathleen > On May 17, 2007, at 9:21 AM, shadowedorchid wrote: > > > > >> well maybe you can put those links in the links section. > >> > >> Kathleen > > > > where do i find that?
