Guest guest
I've been eating soo much cheese and nuts as my protein source. I think cheese is addictive to me as are nuts. I do eat fish and eggs. Can someone help me with other good protein sources. I never really worried about complete or incomplete protein. I have been reading a little about that now. I like seitan, beans, and I do eat tofu. Now I am concerned about eating too much soy also. If someone who knows about getting a complete veg. protein could help me I would be really grateful. Thanks, Laurie I am on step 4 but had taken out sugar and had browned before I started the program which was in late March.

You can also mix TVP in with you morning oatmeal. Or, open a can of Bush's vegetarian baked beans. Finally, I am always experimenting with silken tofu in my food processor. I make spicy peanut sauce, chocolate pudding, hummus-fu and bean-tofu dip. I hope you have fun trying some of these ideas.
Guest guest
hi laurie for what it's worth, i eat whey protein in my hot cereal for breakfast, a combination of yogurt/cottage cheese for lunch, and eggs for dinner - during the week i follow this " format " because it is simple and i don't have to think about it - on the weekend i can be more creative (mix and match the same proteins, but in different combinations) - i eat a little over 60 grams protein/day i don't eat any soy due to hypothyroidism (except if i go out and that's the best vegetarian option) i eat barley for breakfast porridge and beans for luch and dinner - i count them as browns, and they all have lots of protein, so i know i am getting enough hope this helps leigh
Guest guest
Hi Laurie, I'm fairly unversed in complete proteins, but in addition to tofu, edamame, and nuts I often eat low-fat cottage cheese and lentils (beans I know). I wonder if those might help? If you haven't already, be sure to check the vegetarian protein source list in the 'files' section here. It helps me to vary my diet from time to time. Now I'm off to research complete proteins Good Luck! , " laurie " <laurieseidman wrote: > > I've been eating soo much cheese and nuts as my protein source. Guest guest
Do you not like soy burgers, sausages, prawns, cutlets or schnitzels? I find the range manufactured here quite delicious. Oddly I met the people ( husband and wife) who manufacture the most popular range here at a dinner party and they told me they started the business just so they wouldn’t have to spend the rest of their days eating beans and lentils. But beans are good if combined with a grain – I understand that forms a complete protein.
Guest guest
Laurie, I too also remember being concerned as well. However the body has a way to balance things out. Doing the nuts, cheese, fish, & eggs are good things to feed the body and ones protein level requirement. Letting go of the worry is also part of the healing process and it's so amazing as well. Keep going and congradulations on Step #4 (That's Awesome). Bob , " laurie " <laurieseidman wrote: > > I've been eating soo much cheese and nuts as my protein source.
