Guest guest
Hi All, I just joined this list to have some program companions as I baby step my diet more toward vegetarianism, for environmental and ethical reasons. I am on step 7, very steady, and don't want to lose that. I checked out the list of vegetarian proteins and learned something already-I didn't know nutritional yeast had protein in it. Most of the vegetarian books I read don't take into account the amount of protein necesssary or are really heavy into soy protein. So I am looking forward to reading along (and carefully journaling) to learn how vegetarian I can get and stay steady. Are there any vegetarians here who live in a cold winter climate, and are you able to stay vegetarian throughout the winter? JoEllen
Guest guest
Hi JoEllen, Welcome! Yes, I live in Boston (is that cold enough?) and I have been vegetarian, mostly vegan, for nearly 40 years. (also raised three healthy vegetarian children, now all adults). Have been on Step 7 going on three years. Please let me know how we can help you. Guest guest
Thanks, Gail. What you just wrote is really helpful. When I was vegan and vegetarian before RR, I was very unbalanced--definitely not eating enough protein. It's just nice to be around people in RR who are vegetarians or eating less meat and doing fine. JoEllen , Gail Shapiro <weedabutt wrote: > > Hi JoEllen, > Welcome!
