Guest guest
I was for a minute there lol. I have discovered I have an appointment I cannot miss Thursday afternoon! It isnt holidays of course here in UK, but I was planning a nice cosy *leisurely* family dinner in the evening. But - no reason why that cant still apply! I have decided to take a planned snack with me for just in case I am delayed, and leave dinner cooking slowly... either slow-cook oven bake ( got taken with slow cooked red cabbage of late) or last minute. I think the thing is if I get it all planned out meal wise and shop on Sunday, no problem. so I can still be a Honorary Thanksgiving Person and dine with you. Maybe if its around 7 or 8 my time some of us will even be eating together
Guest guest
mosaic, I live in California, so I will join you as I have my Thanksgiving lunch! I still haven't decided on my menu. It will include whatever veggies look good in the market and either baked squash or sweet potatoes, plus a mix of brown & wild rice. My protein will likely be tempeh (fermented soy) and a bit of cheese. I plan to have dessert, either spiced fruit w/nuts or RR pumpkin pie. And I will have some lovely herbal tea. I shall raise a glass to you and be thankful for everyone in our community! cheers, Cinzia , " mosaic " <mosaic58 wrote: > > I was for a minute there lol. > I have discovered I have an appointment I cannot miss Thursday > afternoon! Guest guest
Hi mosaic, I love thinking about having Thanksgiving with you. I am having a night before Thanksgiving meal with some of my family who don't eat meat but like fish, and I am making lemon/orange/ginger flounder, sweet potato muffins and green beans. My honorary mom (we decided to adopt each other as mother and daughter a few years ago) is bringing sassafras root that she gathered and made into juice and seltzer water to mix for a sparkling drink. Then on Thanksgiving I am going out to dinner with more family to a restaurant. I plan to call ahead and see what they have and bring some browns in my purse if I need to. So I'll be thinking of you because we'll probably be eating simultaneously with the time difference. Guest guest
Mosaic, Count me " in " I'll bring my fine chopped salad, with at least 8 veggy's in it. A side dish of Wild Brown Rice & Tofu (seasoned with cayanne pepper) is alway's fun too. Guest guest
Ooh wild rice and tofu with cayenne pepper sounds delicious Bob! Hi, I'm Tina... I just joined the list. I am not fully a vegetarian but I have contemplated making the change several times. I spent a month this past summer in a yoga ashram eating all vegetarian meals and I really liked it. It was certainly more challenging to get enough protein but I still felt radiant and I made it work. I'm looking forward to learning more with everyone here! Guest guest
Do you just put Cayenne on it or some other spices as well? I usually only but the tinist bit of cayenne in my cooking because me and Sicy things don't agree with each other. I should also introduce myself. My name is Jess. I just moved to a Buddhist retreat center in the mountains of Northern Colorado where the majority of my meals are vegetarian. I'm very glad to be here. Jess CO (The CO is for Colorado.)
