Dairy is very stagnating if you know what I mean. It makes a ripe environment for bacteria and all kind of things...it is definitely not cleansing. That is so interesting the comment by the Chinese. Americans could themselve a big favor, if not for the animals, but just themselves by letting go of dairy. I think it would improve our appearance as well. Guest guest
You could try a combination of Almond and Rice milk. Which is what we use in our cereal. I use 1/2 of the vanilla flavored almond as it has a sweet flavor and is a bit creamier than rice, with 1/2 plain rice milk. I sweeten my cereal with a little organic pure maple syrup instead of sugar. It's really good once you get used to it not being as thick as dairy milk...but then you don't get any of the mucus from the dairy milk either. It's also much easier on your digestive system. Also...Cheerios is a good substitute for those pre-sweetened cereals. It's a staple in our Vegan home. Guest guest
For the past year dairy or lactose was giving me problems with my digestive system and having a negative impact on my immune system as well. Aside from working the steps of the program for the past several years, getting off dairy has been extremly difficult. The past couple of months has taken so much more energy then I could have imagined. It's nice to feel good again and be dairy free in all respects. Just wanted to let everyone know. Guest guest
Congratulations Bob! I haven't eaten dairy for several years. It made a big difference my energy levels and the general happiness of my stomach. I wouldn't dream of eating it now. Guest guest
Congratulations, Bob! Even if it affects us negatively, some food is just so hard to get away from sometimes. I hope you continue to feel better and better. Guest guest
Like I said, I'm sure its a subject that people have strong feelings about, so I probably should not have expressed my views. I'm sure that conditions for cows are far from being humane, but I feel it is abominable that there are people who are living in refugee camps with no clean water, disease, etc. I'm not saying that the dairy industry is OK, because I agree with you it is certainly not, commercial milk is not healthy. But what a pity that the resources that go into dairy " farming " cannot be channeled to those less fortunate, who would be happy to live off a calorie rich and varied vegetarian diet. Daphne BTW, I'm now eating eggs that come from my friends ranch where I must say they are very happy and free to roam chickens, and if I could get milk straight from the cow, Id probably do that too. Well, I for one am concerned about what dairy is doing to my health and the health of others (i.e. Children) in America (as a result of those antibiotics and bovine growth hormone that the FDA has now allowed the dairy industry to NOT mark on the product). As an allergy sufferer I am hoping that nixing the dairy will have a positive effect. [excessive quotes deleted by moderator]
Guest guest
Hi D, I totally agree with you. I was just wondering which 3 specific countries you were talking about that you mentioned in your original post? I apologize if I come off sounding strong or whatever. I am new to this way of life and I'm sure that there is much for me to learn. I would LOVE to have eggs like your getting. If it's working for you then go girl!! D ps Im loving all the support and positive posts on this board, it gives me alot of encouragement when the going gets tough. Ginger <gingerdphillips wrote: Hi D, I totally agree with you.
