Guest guest
I have just got back from a shopping expedition so I am moved to ask: how are you all coping? I got a shock and had to move from plan A to plan B! I planned my shopping around a visit to my usual food stop. But it had shut down!! Luckily I had manoevered myself in the right direction in advance so was able to do a little reconnoitre... I had some PJ's for my daughters stocking, and got a ticket for 10% discount for the restaurant so that was the silver lining.... I had jacket potato, salad, and cheese. It was light on protein for me but I had walnuts to add. now I am having a bit of a rest before squirreling my shopping away into hidey holes before everyone gets home! mosaic
Guest guest
Hi Mosaic- Oh that's too bad about your usual food stop! I hate losing my program friendly restaurants. But I'm glad you found something to make it work. Nothing like a good baked potato!! I laughed aloud at you squirreling gifts away in their hidey holes. I have a hiding area for my gifts too. I'd say I've bought about 50% of the gifts I need to this year. I do a lot of shopping online now, which is so convenient. I am also planning on having a new years eve party at my house, it should be great fun! Tina mosaic58 Wed, 5 Dec 2007 14:05:41 +0000 how is your holiday planning? Guest guest
I have done no christmas shopping whatsoever, but luckily this year I only have to get 3 gifts. My extended family this year have instituted a gift exchange since all of use kids grew up and didn't leave home (meaning Colorado.) So I only have to buy my cousin's husband something. And then the Buddhist retreat center where I live is also doing a gift exchange. It's officially for the soltice celebration, so I'll get another gift for someone here on the land and then for everybody else in my life I've invited them to come up for a beginner's weekend in Febraury to learn to meditate. Everyone seems to be pretty excited about it. They're all curious where I live and what I do with my time. I'm really enjoying how sanely this holiday period is shaping up for me. Guest guest
Oh Jess that does sound incredibly sane! I am buying way less gifts this year and spending less money. It feels good to be in this place. Tina londonoctober Wed, 5 Dec 2007 11:24:41 -0800 RE: how is your holiday planning?
