Guest guest
Hello everyone! I hope I'm doing this right- this is my first post here. My name is Jaqui, I'm 23 years old, and I'm excited to be a part of this forum! I've actually been doing the RR program, in some form, for about six years now. I went straight to detox right after reading PNP, relapsed a few months into it (big surprise), then started back from square one and went through the steps, only to go back and start right over again! So I'm technically hovering at Step 1 at the moment (although I'm actually doing three meals a day with enough protein and brown, not just breakfast), where I have felt comfortable for the past couple of years. I know that at some point in the future, when I'm ready, I will move forward and eventually detox from sugar! I have always been drawn to a vegetarian diet, but ever since I started doing the program, I just assumed that I'd have to eat a lot of meat. Within the last few months, however, I've realized that my body just doesn't like meat! So I'm trying to get more of my protein from plant sources, and also trying to cook more with fresh, whole foods. I'm the kind of person who likes the least amount of hassle when it comes to meal preparation, so as a result I tend to eat a lot frozen/canned food which I know isn't the best for me I'm totally braindead when it comes to cooking, but I'm hoping that can change! Anyways, just thought I'd respond to this since I've been lurking for a couple months now. Unfortunately I don't have a computer at home, so it'll be especially difficult for me to participate in this forum, but I will try as much as possible! Thanks for reading and I look forward to corresponding with you all. Guest guest
Hi! Thanks for the welcome. I tend to eat the same breakfast every day- a peanut butter and banana sandwich on alvorado st bread, made with this amazing brand of peanut butter that I recently found, I think it's called " naturally more. " It's organic and has flax seeds, flax seed oil, and egg whites in it to enhance protein and reduce monounsaturated fat! (Unfortunately it has a little sugar in it as well, so it wouldn't be appropriate for those of you who are past step 6.) I need a little more protein than that, though, so I also eat a kashi granola bar which has soy protein. It's hard for me to stray from this breakfast because it's so easy, fast, portable, and makes me feel good, but it does get a little old , " mosaic " <mosaic58 wrote: > > Welcome Jaqui, so glad you posted! Guest guest
glad you have a breakfast that works well, Jaqui. have you got enough protein in there ? I do love peanut butter myself. I just have a brand in UK called whole earth. I know what you mean about " old " - I do rotate my browns a bit when I get bored. So let me know if you have any more ideas. mosaic , " clocky the clown " <jaquiheather wrote: > > Hi! Thanks for the welcome.
