Guest guest
Hi, Julia I have been slowly transitioning from omni to vegetarian to vegan over the past few months, and I am now at the point where the only animal product I include in my meals is eggs. For me, I've had to be very careful to eat my protein source first and make sure I eat enough food. And of course, sticking closely to the program helps tremendously Do you have any tips specific to being a vegan while doing the SARP program? Vegetarian was not difficult for me, but total vegan has been tricky for me in the past. I would really like to let go of the eggs soon Warm regards, Nadine
Guest guest
Hi again Nadine, Here is a list of vegan protein sources that might help: -veggie burgers (watch out for the egg whites in some brands) -tofurkey -Lightlife vegan links (great hot dogs with those) -Tofutti cheese (they have Mozzarela or American, also cream cheese) -Quinoa -Oatmeal -Soy yogurt -Bulgur -Tempeh -Seitan -Bagels What are you currently having for breakfast? Do you think you can do without eggs then? Bean burritos, protein shakes, oatmeal, scrambled tofu and peanut butter toast are other great options. Perhaps you can try one of these and see how you feel, see if you think you are missing the protein from eggs. Hope this is also helpful besides my previous e-mail. Have a wonderful day! Guest guest
thanks for this Julia, as someone who doesnt know an awful lot about vegans, I found it of interest. Do you work with the denser proteins more, Im just wondering about how you incorporate the denser ones, say tempeh, seitan....? does your body like those best? Im intrigued about that. Do you rely on your journal a lot? , " juliadelpalacio " <juliadelpalacio wrote: > > Hi again Nadine, > > Here is a list of vegan protein sources that might help: > > -veggie burgers (watch out for the egg whites in some brands) > -tofurkey > -Lightlife vegan links (great hot dogs with those) > -Tofutti cheese (they have Mozzarela or American, also cream cheese) > -Quinoa > -Oatmeal > -Soy yogurt > -Bulgur > -Tempeh > -Seitan > -Bagels > > What are you currently having for breakfast?
