Guest guest
I did enjoy hearing stories from everyone. I hope we can encourage you newbies out.... even if you are working step 1.. and *specially* if you are working step 1... it would be grand to hear how your step is going! mosaic
Guest guest
This seems like a good place to introduce myself then I'm 24/female and I just read PnP for the first time a few weeks ago. I am the child of an alcoholic and the sugar sensitivity symptom checklist described me to a tee. I decided to cut out white things and sugar last week and, while my journal reflected a radical difference in moodiness, I felt weak all the time. I couldn't work as hard at the gym and felt like I was going to faint. (Not sure what happened - not enough calories?) So now I am sucking it up and starting with step 1, instead of being stubborn I took SARP out of the library so I am ready to start. I always eat breakfast and eat pretty healthy, actually, so I don't know how long I will have to focus on step 1. (Typical breakfast for me is egg whites and soy cheese on whole grain bread, or whole wheat waffles with flax and fruit, or a healthy, low-sugar cereal with soy milk.) Tips would be appreciated. Thanks! tumabuttaboosh , " mosaic " <mosaic58 wrote: > > I did enjoy hearing stories from everyone. > I hope we can encourage you newbies out.... even if you are working > step 1.. and *specially* if you are working step 1... it would be grand > to hear how your step is going! > mosaic >

Guest guest
Nice to meet you! The best tip I can give is to follow the steps slowly. It took me two years to go through them and get off white stuff. Everyone is different, but slow and steady is the key. I love SARP. Of all Kathleen's books, that is the one I go back to the most. I am glad you checked it out! Posting also helps. There are many people here walking your path and holding your hand! Guest guest
Thank you mosaic and Karyn. I am 50-60 pounds overweight and on medication for depression, so the temptation is strong when I feel depressed or am not getting *fast* results at the gym to go strict. I haven't read the book through yet so I don't know how much protein to shoot for - does that chapter of SARP contain a formula? t. , " mosaic " <mosaic58 wrote: > > tumabuttaboosh > Lovely to meet you > glad you posted -and what good things you've achieved so far. Guest guest
Welcome! How great that you found us -- we're a fun bunch, if I do say so myself <smile>. Step 1 is my favorite step. It looked so easy and " no-brainer " to me at first, but there's a lot to it and it's the foundation for everything here. I love breakfast and finding out what works best for me. Hope you share with us how it's going for you! warmly, Cinzia , " tumabuttaboosh " <gearbird wrote: > > This seems like a good place to introduce myself then > > I'm 24/female and I just read PnP for the first time a few weeks ago. > I am the child of an alcoholic and the sugar sensitivity symptom > checklist described me to a tee. Guest guest
heres a handy page for you http://www.radiantrecovery.com/1r.htm its about step 1, and has the sums on there! it took me awhile to work out breakfast, so I hope you'll keep in touch about yours. I aim for 32g, so I had protein powder, with a tablespoon of peanut butter to top it up ( peanut butter is something I use more of a condiment really as its a bit light protein wise.) my brown was jacket potato today. what did you choose? , " tumabuttaboosh " <gearbird wrote: > > Thank you mosaic and Karyn. Guest guest
Well, yesterday I didn't make the best choice in breakfast (it did have protein but no brown). Today, however, I am making whole wheat pancakes with protein powder in the mix. t. , " mosaic " <mosaic58 wrote: > > heres a handy page for you > http://www.radiantrecovery.com/1r.htm > > its about step 1, and has the sums on there! > > it took me awhile to work out breakfast, so I hope you'll keep in > touch about yours.
