Guest guest
Just looking for ideas. Up until I started this program all I ate was fruit or oatmeal. Right now I'm just doing shakes and oatmeal. TIA Karen
Guest guest
hi Karen thats an excellent start! I usually have shake myself because its so easy! but sometimes I'll have a chick pea (garbanzo)and tomato stew - its a lunch I often make, and I'll make extra and save it for next day. Combining it with cottage cheese gets the protein right for me. Cold cheese and hot beans is what I like! mosaic , " Karen " <karenann1684 wrote: > > Just looking for ideas. Guest guest
Hi Karen- I currently have a protein shake, and either oats or oat cereal on the side. My shake consists of george's restore, milk or unsweetened chocolate almond milk, ice, part of a banana, sometimes cocoa powder, a big spoonful of peanut butter, flax oil, and hearty helping of cottage cheese. This is part of my long saga to find a shake that has staying power and sustenance for my body. It's been an interesting journey! What are you making your shake with? Are you satisfied with it? Guest guest
I currently have Kathleen's quiche recipe with Veggie Sausage added in...not likeing it much - the TVP is making me nauseous! So, I am back to shakes when my restore gets here later this week. For my shake I usually have Restore, unsweetened almond milk, fruit or fruit juice (optional), a flavoring from the RR store(usually almond or vanilla) and a brown on the side (plain oatmeal or Whole grain toast). YUM!! By the way - I'm new here, just jumping right in! <smile> I'll post an introduction separately... JJ
Guest guest
Hi JJ, welcome! I love my shake for breakfast. I eat quiche a lot, too, but usually for other meals. It's so easy to make different variations! I haven't used the vegie sausage in my most recent ones. I tend to just use different cheese and herbs or vegetables. I made one a month ago with basil, sundried tomatos, and ricotta and parmeasan. And I made one last week with spinach and ricotta and parmesan. The next one I may do a Greek flavor with olives, feta and fresh oregano. Ah the options! I noticed you have your brown on the side with your shake, I do too! Guest guest
Heather, Your quiche ideas sound soooo yummy! Does the ricotta cheese get goopy? Do you mix it in with the eggs or just smear it in the shell before the eggs? JJ " Your food shall be your remedy. Let food be your medicine and let medicine be your food. Guest guest
JJ, I just mix the cottage cheese into the egg and the milk. It gets nice and custardy when cooking that way! You do need to cut down a bit on the liquid when using it, so where you might normally do 2 cups milk, you'd do 1 cup milk and 1 cup ricotta. I think it helps the protein count to do this, too.
