Guest guest
hi- I tried wild rice for the frist time in many years. it was delicious! I noticed it took a little longer to cook than some of the brown rice I've had. i'm stiil getting a feel for how to cook it. but it turned out pretty well just heating it in a pot covered in water for 20 min. Next time i'll give it a bit more time to cook. but still, i loved the smell and taste. -john
Guest guest
John, I enjoy wild rice, too. It has a nice nutty flavor. I haven't cooked it in awhile, and now that it's fall it feels like wild rice time to me, I'll have to grab some thing next time I'm at the store . Heather There are two ways to live your life. Guest guest
In the RR bookstore, there is a little cookbook on wild rice. It is an incredible cookbook! It not only shows different ways of cooking it but also many many recipes that are wonderful. (My favorite wasy of cooking WR is in the oven! - I would have never even throught of cooking it that way!) My favorite recipe is the WR bread - altered a bit to elininate the sugar. it is incredible Heather Butler <hawaiihmb Sunday, September 28, 2008 6:32:34 PM Re: wild rice John, I enjoy wild rice, too. Guest guest
John, I love, love, love my rice cooker! Dump any kind of rice in there with some vegetable broth and/or water and let it go. You can't mess it up! JJ
