breakfast bento

Hi everyone, as I get myself ready for my long roadtrip I decided to

have a little fun :). I put together a bento to have for breakfast in

the morning before I go (tonight I'm staying at one of my in-laws

about 2 hours away). I put up a picture in the photos section so you

can see what I did.

I used a small two tiered bento. In it you'll see two hardboiled eggs

shaped like a heart and a star and dyed with food coloring, a cut up

vegetarian brat which spans both levels, a few bites of banana, and a

packet of oatcakes. My hope is to have time for a bowl of oatmeal,

but should that not work out I am glad to have the oatcakes. I think

I am a child at heart!! :)

Heather, that is soooo adorable - I love it!

I give up though - how do you get a chicken to lay heart and star shaped

eggs??!!!! LOL, seriously, how do you get them like that? :)

cars. It's a lot of fun, and I swear they taste better ;).

and fun is that!!!

Oh actually, you hardboil it first, peel it right away, put it in the shaper and

then pop it into a dish of cold water for 20 minutes :). The dye comes after.

ROFL! OH, that sounds much easier - I kept trying to picture cracking the egg in

a form of some sort and boiling it without it leaking out! HA!

I had no idea that eggs were formable when they are still warm - this is an

awesome and fun idea!
