Guest guest
Hi, just wondering if anyone regularly uses K's shake mix to up protein levels at meals or snacks? I was considering ordering some. That way, if my protein intake at a certain meals seemed like it may be a little short of optimal, I could have some of the shake mixed into some yogurt or as a smoothie...? Especially for those of us who can't eat a large portion of beans at a meal. Janine On Dec 28, 2008, at 3:48 PM, laurie wrote: > I forgot to say I eat eggs. Guest guest
Hi Janine, I have used the shake mix to supplement meals. Typically it happens when someone " takes me out " to lunch and the only options for protein are meat or include whites. So I have veggies, browns and the shake either right before (if I know where we are going), or right after. I keep a shaker bottle at work just for that purpose. About the beans, I wouldn't worry so much about not being able to eat them. There are so many other protein sources out there! Check out our List of Vegetarian Protein Sources in the files section of our group: http://health. Heather There are two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle. --Albert Einstein ________________________________ Janine Acevedo <janine Sunday, December 28, 2008 10:37:49 PM protein shake mix? Guest guest
Hi Janine, I have the Restore shake once a day in the morning, and for the rest of the day I like to mix and match proteins like Jess does. Some of my favorite supplemental choices are nut butter on rice cakes, this nutritional yeast/walnut " cheese " topping I got from a health food store, grated almond cheese, adding a hard boiled egg to chili, and wheat germ.
