I am Christine I am 49 and I never thought I was addicted to sugar until I started reading the book The Sugar Addict's Recovery Program. I have begun perimenopause and was looking up symptoms I have been having and that led me to this book. WOW!!! I am a vegetarian and I am on step 1 and 2. Journaling is still hard for me, especially the physical and emotional feeling stuff. I do drink a protein shake in the morning. I never would eat breakfast before. The getting enough protein in still a hard one for me. I love the veggie burgers and chicken alternatives but I also work shift work and it is hard to schedule meals and not snack. So I have been working step 1 and 2 for about 6 weeks. I am so grateful to have this support group and finally got brave enough to post. I love reading all your messages about what and how to eat.
