Guest guest
Thanks Tina I spotted those last night. I'm going to look at the protein files too. Guest guest
Hi Mel, welcome!! One of my favorite vegetarian cuisines is one I think you are already familiar with--Indian food! Yesterday I made some saag paneer for lunches. If it turns out ok (today is the first taste test), I'll post the recipe to share. Heather There are two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle. --Albert Einstein ________________________________ mel8239 <shaggypoo.chaos Saturday, May 9, 2009 4:49:51 PM New to the Group hi all I was vegetarian for over ten years but now eat some meat, usually at lunch. My body likes dense proteins, especially chicken or turkey, & fish. I always have soya milk & PP, & I eat a lot of lentils, tempeh, & some eggs. I am a veggie fiend, & I would like to explore more protein options. Mel
Guest guest
Yes, welcome, Mel! Glad to have you here! Heather, I've been wanting to try to make paneer for a while but haven't yet. Let us know how it came out! I just read about making cheese out of almonds and cashews in the vegetarian times magazine for those of us here who are dairy free. Guest guest
Oh yes! I love it, & I live right where it is best in London. I look forward to your verdict - & to the recipe! Guest guest
I hope you are doing well with the fat free vegan eating. I was a vegetarian for about five years fifteen years ago and now trying to be vegan. And I must say, I've never grown fond of tofu as in soups or stir-frys! But do not worry, there are many other things to eat, I promise! Some things I remember fondly - I did make an alfredo sauce with silken tofu and cajun spices that turned out well. I like the Three Bean Cassoulet (with a splash of hot sauce) and Mexican Lasagna/Casserole (http://blog.fatfreevegan.com/2006/07/mexican-lasagna-or-enchilada-casserole.htm\ l). But not losing any weight since the food was so good! So I'm trying to do more veggies now! I also tried Melty Pizza cheese http://www.veganrepresent.com/forums/archive/index.php?t-4485.html) which was not good unless I used for pizza topping. I smashed it down on top of pizza sauce on top of vegan tortillas and then added toppies. Absolutely marvelous! I can't wait to make that one again! I was just on here looking for tips on making all the cooking go faster - my honey hates leftovers and salads....You'll find good advice. Keep it up - the key to good health is on these pages. My cholesterol dropped 40 points in 8 weeks! And I can fear cancer lots less....it is crazy to eat that " normal " stuff! Hope to see you on here lots!
