Hi,

Just thought I would say hello! I have been doing step one for about a month and

am finding it all pretty amazing really. Having struggled with diets, self-help

groups etc etc etc, for about 40 years, it is great to be doing something

different, and this does feel really right in many ways. I have often wondered

if my problems might be more physiological than psychological. I am in the Step

one group, but have really enjoyed reading posts on this one also, as I do not

eat meat. It is great to hear ideas for high protein vegetarian foods.

Hi Catherine and welcome.

I'm smiling at your realization - if anyone had told me during my many years of

therapy that my problem was physical/addiction I would have laughed at them.

Strange how so many of my 'psychological' issues have disappeared since I got

steady doing the food though!!!

Hi, Thanks for the replies. I do feel quite blown away with all the support on

here.

As for what foods I enjoy ..... I like lentils, chick peas etc if they are

cooked in an interesting way, and tofu is a useful and affordable staple,

although I do not experiment enough with that.

I like quite spicy food. I do Quorn things a lot for family meals - their range

seems to be constantly expanding. It is quick to cook, cheapish, low fat, high

in protein - makes being a vegetarian mum much easier. Do you have Quorn

products in America?! It has only neen here for a few years. The new 'sausage

rolls' have been great for picnics.

I could also live quite happily off bread and cheese!

I am delighted that this vegetarian group exists.

hi Catherine

I echo what Jaki has said!

I had bought so many books before I came across PnotP, & had spent a fortune on

therapy too.

I live in London, & am veggie at breakfast & dinner at the moment. I used to be

fully vegetarian, but in fact I didn't really eat anything that wasn't bread,

chips or crisps.

It's good to see you here - I look forward to getting to know you.

Hi Mel,

It is good to come across other people here in England!

I'd love to know what do you have for breakfast, as a vegetarian?!
