Guest guest
Ok Guy's, I've kind of went off the deep end, but it turned out to be really, really, good. Went to my new fav produce stand Mike's (N/Cal) and they had Fresh Picked Okra. Adding the Multicolor Fingerling Potatoes was very out there for me (LOL). Broke out my Indian Spice Containers (from Colorado). & Yes, added TVP as protein & to absorb the water from the pot. Also made some wild & brown rice as a side. I had the best smelling apartment in my complex of only 12 units... I have about 4-5 meals from this wonderful okra. I'm Happy Bob
Guest guest
YUM. I always thought I hated okra until one day I had it at an Indian restaurant. I loved it! Your recipe sounds so creative, Bob! Janine On Sep 13, 2009, at 9:43 AM, bheit2003 wrote: > Ok Guy's, > > I've kind of went off the deep end, but it turned out to be really, > really, good. Guest guest
Bob, I'm not ready for okra yet, don't think I could find it fresh in Montana, lol, but I'm interested in TVP for adding protein. Can you educate this very 'vegetarian illiterate' person? What's TVP and where will I find it (do have access to HF stores). Guest guest
Hi Verla, It took me 45 years to crave Okra, no rush or worries. TVP = Texturized Vegetable Protein Granules 1oz = 14gm of protein, its a nice meat substitute. Some stores call it Smart Meat & sell it pre seasoned for Chili. I like it in pasta dishes with red sauce. Have to go to work. Guest guest
Oh my, sounds delish! I've never cooked fresh okra, what a treat. heather There are two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle. --Albert Einstein ________________________________ bheit2003 <yogabob7 Sunday, September 13, 2009 12:43:15 PM Okra Masala w/Multicolor Fingerling Potatoes Ok Guy's, I've kind of went off the deep end, but it turned out to be really, really, good.
