Guest guest
Alexei, Keep in mind that in a world where we don't have written instructions from millions of years ago with the 100% exact diet that humans are " supposed " to follow, people are searching existing information and theories to draw their own conclusions. In the process, some may feel insecure about their nutrition and may feel they " need " to supplement, at least as a precaution. At one time humans (IMO) ate only 100% raw wildcrafted foods. Today, most of us are removed from a natural unpolluted environment, where we can harvest clean wild produce year round. Many fruits and other vegetables have been hybridized from their original wild " ancestors " . Much of the produce we, in northern climates, consume in the winter may be from other states, harvested and shipped long distances to our stores. These are not as fresh and, in the case of fruits, have likely been picked unripe. Other local fruits may have been stored for a long time (such as apples and pears). For people consuming foods of this type, supplementing might be a " precaution " they choose. The supplements may or may not do any good, but a person choosing supplements (IMO) does not negate that raw foods is the best path. You mention " correct nutrition " . If correct nutrition is wildcrafted, non-hybridized, unpolluted foods, is that actually possible to find? While " correct nutrition " may be the ideal, which would not need any supplementation, while people are searching for that and becoming comfortable with it, let's be patient with them! BTW, even if I hear someone mentioning supplements, if I hear people promoting the raw diet, I am not sad! The more people understand the raw diet, the more information about it will be available to more people, the more people will be secure in such a diet, and the less supplementation will be going on (oh yeah... IMO)! Regarding your comment on good nutrition below, if someone is supplementing, that does not mean that they are not getting good nutrition, it (IMO) means they are not confident that they are getting good nutrition. Part of the raw food path is becoming secure and confident in the diet/lifestyle. Thanks, Jeff > It's really sad to hear anyone promoting the raw diet and then in the > next breath start recommending or selling supplements and " super " > foods. I don't think they realize that this negates the whole purpose > of correct nutrition. If you need any supplementation then that means > that your not getting good nutrition.
