Guest guest
Good morning all! I wanted to share yesterday's breakfast, a stir fry! At Whole Foods I found a delicious sausage made from wheat gluten called Field Roast (made in Seattle) with 25g protein per serving! I steamed it in a pan with a lid with water and some chopped veggies (1 carrot and 1 spear broccoli). When the water was almost gone I added some sliced ginger, a helping of leftover brown rice and a little soy sauce and hot sauce. (For more protein you could stir in a scrambled egg or 2 and put the lid back on for a little) This is great for an easy and quick way to use up leftovers and good for lunch or dinner too. I am taking a cooking class in Vegetarian Cuisine at the Community College here - I'll let you know what our chef does with tempeh when we get to that in a few weeks! Happy Day! Guest guest
Deb, That's part of the beauty of doing vegetarian, there is no longer such a thing as a formal meal. You can eat stir fry for B/fast!!! Smile, Bob Sent on the Sprint® Now Network from my BlackBerry® " cellodeb " <cellodeb Wed, 14 Oct 2009 13:34:27 new breakfast Good morning all! Guest guest
Oh just brilliant thinking Deb! I especially like how you added ginger rice soy and hot sauces after, yum Heather There are two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. Guest guest
Thanks for the tip of the Field Roast. I live in Seattle so it should be easy for me to get. I was very disappointed this morning to find out that my favorite Quorn chik'n nuggets (Mushroom protein) have dextrose in them. Sigh... > At Whole Foods I found a delicious sausage made from wheat gluten called Field Roast (made in Seattle)
