Guest guest Posted October 30, 2009 Report Share Posted October 30, 2009 Found this recipe for Veggie burgers on the Plum Village website (Thich Nhat Hanh) Ingredients: - 250g canned white beans (drained)01 - 250g canned red beans (drained) - 250g canned lentils (drained) - 250g canned chickpeas (drained) - 250g gluten flour (wheat) - 10 tbsp vegetable oil - 3 tsp seasoning powder - 1 whole onion (cut into quarters) - 2 tsp five spices - 1 jar lid (approx. the size of a burger) - 1 piece of plastic wrap Prepration time: 60 minutes Makes: Approx. 18 burgers 02 1) Mix onions and one can of beans in a food processor. 03 2) Add the remaining beans into food processor. Mix well. 04 3) Add oil, salt and five spice into food processor. Continue to mix until the beans have become a paste. 05 4) Pour the bean mix into a bowl. Add gluten flour and mix well. 06 5) Grease the plastic wrap with oil using a leek leaf. 07 6) Place the plastic wrap on top of the jar lid. 08 7) Put bean mix on the plastic. (in the jar lid) 11 8) Press the bean mix down and spread evenly in the lid. 12 9) Pull the plastic wrap out of the lid. 13 10a) Place the pressed mix on a baking tray and bake for 30 minutes at 450°F (gaz 6); or 141516 10b) Spread oil on a grill, place the veggie burger on the grill and cover with a lid. After about 15 minutes flip the burgers onto the other side. Cover with lid and continue to grill for nother 15 minutes. Notes: Add 50g of gluten flour if you like your burgers to be more chewy.
