Subj: Any one do Raw or vegan?

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone was into raw or vegan foods. I unfortunately,

and surprisingly, hate to be in the kitchen. (I think it has to do with

some deep rooted emotional issues from childhood)

Now I have 3 children to feed, so it is a necessity. I used to (in my

20's and 30's) just eat whatever vegetarian foods filled me up on the run.

But now with 3 little ones and a new self awareness of my own diet, I need to

revamp my thinking. Part of that shift finds me thinking if I am off

sugar, I might as well go all the way (and go raw, vegan). And spend a little

more time in the kitchen, preparing really exciting new foods. Anyone on

that path? Am I getting too ahead of myself? I know, start with

breakfast. I am a typical sugar addict, I need to do it all NOW! LOL!

Thanks!

Hi Maria,

I think ideally I would be at least vegetarian, but for now I'm focusing

on just doing step 1 as it's all I can handle at the moment. I do like the

idea of eating less and less animal products eventually, though.

Mel,

Yes, naturally and gradually. That is my goal, that is really what I'd

like to progress to, have my final step be eating mostly or completely raw

and vegan. I know it will take quite some time, as I have been eating very

far from raw/vegan. I will try and not force it.

Thanks!

I do eat raw foods and vegan foods, as has happened naturally and

gradually.

I wouldn't set yourself the *task*though of going vegan, say - things will

change a lot for you as you do the food, and as you keep showing up with

willingness to see what unfolds.

My suggestion is not to force anything.

Hi Maria, well I'm not vegan or doing raw food. Seems like to go that way on

top of RR would be a whole lot at once! What do you think?

Yes, I think too much. It will be a long term goal. I am struggling with

eating breakfast right now. Definitely in step one.

Maria, I know the feeling. I had a hard time with breakfast when I started. I

didn't eat in the mornings, pushing my breakfast off until I'd been up 4 hours

or so. Oh how I bargained too LOL. I would just have soy milk at first trying

to rationalize since there was fiber I was getting my brown :). Then I moved to

scrambled eggs and strawberries, where the berries were the " brown " . But in

reality I was moving forward and eventually got the whole breakfast down with

enough protein, a brown and within an hour. My body was grateful for that.
