Onion Gravy

1 tablespoon olive oil

1/2 cup diced onions or carrots

3 tablespoons soy sauce -- or more to taste

3 tablespoons cornstarch

2 cups boiling water

pepper to taste

 

Heat olive oil on medium-high heat in a saucepan and saute onion until soft.

Mix soy sauce with cornstarch and stir into boiling water until mixture

thickens. Stir in onions and pepper, if desired. Taste and add more soy sauce

if desired.
