Pureeing soup

I've noticed a lot of soups call to blend part of it in a blender to

puree. In the past I had a few messy incidents doing this. Last time

I sent hot spinach soup flying up the walls. Later I learned about an

easier and much neater way to do this.

There's another type of blender that's hand held, they come with a

few attachments. One of the attachments is a puree one. It's so easy

and not messy at all. When it's time to puree you just put it in the

soup and puree it as much or as little as you like. It's way faster

then using the blender method also. I was overjoyed (after the

spinach incident) when I discovered this.

The one I have is made my Braun, it's great. I know that other

manufacturers make one.

what a great tip! I know I despise having to do this in recipes, and I never

thought to use my hand blender. Fabulous not having to

do all that blending and transferring! Thanks!

CD -- cloth diapering

EC -- elimination communication, i.e. no diapers

UC -- unassisted childbirth

BTW, I said mine were hb, what I meant was hb (homebirth) with midwives

(I''ve worked with two CNMs and one CPM over two pregnancies)

Hi Ali,

I have one of those things but it's been forever since I've used it.

Which blade is the one for pureeing?

Thanks

Not by a long shot. An immersion blender is really the way to go. You

can get one for $10 at WalMart.
