Actually, with this one, I'm not sure if the Loma Linda Tender Bits are vegan.

Does anyone know? If not or if this item is not available, then I think a good

substitute would be the large " chicken-style " chunks of TVP.

" Chicken " Vegetable Stew

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

4 potatoes -- (raw) cubed

4 carrots -- sliced

2 stalks celery -- sliced thin

1 packet G. Washington Golden or Onion Broth Mix -- (to 2

packets)

2 tablespoons canola oil -- or water

1 large onion -- chopped

1 20 oz can Loma Linda Tender Bits -- cubed

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 cup water

1 teaspoon garlic powder

2 tablespoons McKay's Chicken Style Seasoning

2 teaspoons Vegex seasoning paste -- (optional)

1 cup frozen peas -- or green beans

 

Combine all ingredients in crockpot and simmer on low heat for approximately 8

hours.

 

This can make a wonderful pot pie by placing the finished stew in a baking dish,

covering it with a pastry dough crust, and baking at 400ºF for 30-40 minutes or

until the crust is golden brown and the stew is bubbling.
