Sloppy Italian Joes

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

2 teaspoons olive oil

1 large onion -- diced

1 green pepper -- seeded and diced

1 12 oz package burger-style recipe crumbles -- (Morningstar Farms,

Boca, etc.)

1 12 oz package sausage-style recipe crumbles

2 cloves garlic -- minced

1 medium carrot -- peeled and grated

1 stalk celery -- sliced thin

2 teaspoons dried parsley

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon chili powder -- or to taste

1 teaspoon sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

26 ounces spaghetti sauce

hamburger buns or other buns of choice

 

Brown both packages of " recipe crumbles " , green pepper, and onion in olive oil

until crumbles are cooked and browned; drain. Stir in garlic and cook for 2-3

minutes. Combine all ingredients in crockpot. Cover; cook on high for 1 hour.

Reduce heat to low and cook for 4-5 hours. Serve on buns.
