Guest guest
Bought a crock pot a month or so ago ( & joined this crock-pot group). Finally decided it was time to dust it off & do something. SO ... walking through the market & developing a " mood " ... the following hit my imainative fancy and potential taste buds. It is almost done at this time (put it up at 6:30 this am (EDT) ..it's not 5pm EDT. Tasted the " juce " ... great! Ingredients: 1 1# bag baby carrots 1/2 # large Lima Beans (#=pound) Soaked overnight in distilled, spring or filtered water. Put in pot with soaking water 2 medium sweet potatoes, scrapped, not peeled, then sliced (just to take the surface off should they have been dropped on that dirty floor in the back room of the market) 1/2 Tsp Ground Nutmeg 1/2 Tsp Ground cloves 5 Allspice seeds 20 basil leaves 2 Dry Bay leaves 1 cup macadamian nuts, rinced to remove the salt before putting into the crock pot[could not find salt free] (they loose their taste, but the juce tastes of it nicely) 2 yellow ripe plantains, cross sliced 1 small butternut squash, peeled, seeded & cubed Add water to cover all ingredients, plus 1/2 " Crock pot to low .... go do what it is you do till din-din then enjoy. This " whim " came out great. No Oil, No added salt, No Added Sugars ... totally vegan .... & kosher ..if the crock pot is and utensils & dishes used are. " A " ===== Come and visit ... A " wholefoods meeting place " food_after_thought/ Talk about, listen to, find or add links .. any health concern is an acceptable subject. - Official partner of 2002 FIFA World Cup http://fifaworldcup.
