Guest guest
junterbe I highly advise against the tofurella, to me it tastes like chemicals and it never melts. I think tofutti cheeses are better in both catagories. ````````````````````````````````````````````````````` Are there tofurella cheeses that are made without casein (milk protein)? The only tofu cheeses (including tofurella) that are carried at my local market are not vegan as they have casein in them. ~lily~ Those are my principles. Guest guest
Our stores carry two kinds I think that are vegan...the tofutti's (my favorite), and another one, I can't remember what it's called, vegan something (the taste isn't as great). Pangea carries some online that you can order (they are like cheese sauces), I haven't tried them though so don't know the taste. Here's a link for some of them http://www.pangeaveg.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY & Store_Code=Pangea & Category_Code=Dairy+Alternatives But maybe some of those would be good in a recipe where you want melted-like cheese (i.e. cheese sauce)?~ChristinaMama to Damien Nikolas 11/9/99 & Vladimir Legion Faust 11/26/01 "Foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds"
Guest guest
I'm sorry, I thought that we were talking about VgeanRella which is gross (I haven't tried tofurella). Toffutti has no casein. Guest guest
yes, there is "veganrella" but it SMELLS really bad. if you can get over the smell, go for it! hehe...but it has ruined some dinners i've made, so i don't buy it anymore....soymage is better, they have a couple of vegan cheeses, but i still prefer tofutti even though tofutti is not the healthiest choice (containing hydrogenated oils and such)..... cherrie - Lily Childs ' ' Friday, June 28, 2002 9:50 AM tofurella (was) new here Are there tofurella cheeses that are made without casein (milk protein)? The only tofu cheeses (including tofurella) that are carried at my localmarket are not vegan as they have casein in them.~lily~Those are my principles.
