Guest guest
from www.fatfree.com " CYNTHIA F. MAY " NO FAT " baked " Beans (in crockpot) 1 pkg. northern white beans 1 small onion - diced 2 cloves garlic - minced 1/2 c. molasses 1/3 c. ketchup 1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar 3-4 T maple syrup 1-2 T dry mustard 1/4 c. vegetarian worchestershire sauce 1 t. paprika 1/2 t. ground cloves 2 t. liquid smoke 1/8 t. ground red pepper 4 c. water (or so) Soak beans overnight in large bowl of cold water. Discard water in the morning and drain. Put beans in crockpot and cover with water (should be about 1/2 " above the beans.) Add remaining ingredients. (No need to saute' onion and garlic first.) Stir well. Put crockpot on high for approx. 2 hours and turn to medium heat overnight. You will have a wonderful batch of " breakfast " beans in the morning! There is no salt in this recipe and you may want to add some to taste. Also, spicier beans can be attained by increasing mustard and pepper ratios. Enjoy! I am eating some now and they are GREAT!!
