Guest guest
So last night I was feeling like making some homemade tomato sauce in the crockpot.....i minced up an onion and added it with some olive oil in the crockpot which was on high heat. As soon as the onions were transculent I lowered the heat to three, and cooked them for an hour or so, stirring occassionally so the onions eventualy carmelized. I added some minced garlic (three cloves I think) and let them all cook together a little longer. Then, I added a can of chopped " italian " tomatoes that I had run through the food processor to make them more saucy, one can of actual tomato sauce, and another can of chopped tomatoes. stirred it all up, added some balsamic vinegar, and let it cook on low for a few hours...We went to bed, put the sauce in the fridge, and this morning my bf got up, put the sauce back on and added some sweetener....and we are letting it cook on low again....it smells SO good in the house!!!! I'm sorry that's the best recipe I have! haha! I think I'm going to go get some freezer bags/containers today so I can freeze some of this sauce... -cherrie
