Guest guest
There are TONS of vegan recipe sites!!! You could get lost in those links forever! Do a " search " for " vegan recipes " and see what comes up. I can probably share a few too, when I have more time here. As to vegan cookbooks--anything by Dr. John McDougall, Joanne Stepaniak, the Benton sisters, the Newstart cookbook, or check out the resouce lists or links you get on the vegan sites. There is just SO much information out there! I did a " search " for " raw foods " this morning, and finally stopped myself from browsing after the first 22 pages! I have so much stuff saved right now I will NEVER get through it all! Good luck! Marilyn Mom of eight VERY interesting kids, and proud grandma-to-be of TWINS! Guest guest
Does anyone know of some websites where I can get some good vegan recipes for free? Otherwise, which vegan cookbooks would you recommend? Thanks. pearls2525 <pearls25 wrote: Hi, My name is Barbara and I live in Maine. I just got a new crockpot and I'm looking forward to learning how to use it. I am requesting information on two things: 1) How to make plain black beans (from dried beans)--how to soak, etc. and 2) How to make traditional baked beans from white navy beans (again, how to soak and then also how to make the tomato-based sauce, preferably using honey as a sweetener). I hope that my requests aren't too demanding! Thank you so much, Barbara
Guest guest
My favorite vegan cookbook is " Vegan Planet " by Robin Robertson. She also has a book called " Vegetarian Meat and Potatoes Cookbook " and has recently put out a vegetarian crock pot cookbook. The beauty of her stuff is it's relatively easy and uses ingredients that are commonly available, not to mention it's good! I got complements from non veg'ns over her white bean casserole and Belgian beer stew. Others that I use often are www.fatfree.com and several of the boards at www.vegsource.com. You can also search the archives and files of several , including Veg-Recipes (Veg-Recipes/) and fatfree_ (/). To get an idea of just how many veg recipe sites there are, visit http://www.myhq.com/public/s/u/susanv/. Scroll down to the long list of recipe sites in the middle column. And remember, if you're looking for a particular recipe or you have ingredients that you'd like to use, you can use Google to find recipes. Just type in your requirements and " vegan recipe. " For instance, " eggplant zucchini vegan recipe " will yield an amazing number of recipes. Happy cooking! Susan
