Guest guest
For those of you who have responded about the " ground round " . Ground Round is a meat substitute done by Yves. http://www.veggiedog.com/products_details.php? product_id=12 & page=1 & pId=lItem4 There is a link so you can all look at it. The ingredients, (for those of you too lazy to click) is: Water, textured soy protein, textured wheat protein, onions, natural flavor, expeller pressed canola oil, salt, guar gum, evaporated cane juice, malt extract, caramel color, garlic powder, spices, vitamins & minerals (thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, pantothenic acid, iron, zinc). I don't see any cows, or other animals in there. I'm sorry if I sound offended, but quite frankly, I am. If you are concerned about an ingredient that I have listed, just ask me about it. Don't pounce on me.
Guest guest
No offense to you at all, and I'm sure the product is really good, but what was Yves thinking by naming one of their veggie products with the exact same name as something one would buy from the butcher?! I didn't intend to pounce, otherwise I wouldn't have included the part where I said otherwise it sounded good. In fact, I had my tongue completely pushed into my cheek, but you can't really see that over email, so my apologies if any feelings were hurt. -e. Guest guest
No problem. I had never heard of " ground round " except for Yves (is " ground round " an East Coast thing...?) So when I did a search and realized it was an actual name of meat...I understand a little more. I should have put " 1/2 package of Yves Ground Round Original " . That would have cleared up any confusion. I don't mind people questioning me, I just felt a little ganged up on. Guest guest
Yeah...I think that the term " ground round " as referring to meat is an East Coast thing. Cuz I have lived on the west coast my entire life, even went to culinary school and have never heard that term before I bought the Yves stuff.... Guest guest
For what it's worth, I thought Eric was kidding as well. I thought it was funny! It's hard to tell people's intentions online, indeed. Best wishes, julie
