Guest guest
Baked Beans Source: Total Health 3 cups dried navy beans 10 cups water 1 cup tomato sauce 1/3 cup chopped onion 1/4 cup molasses 1 Tbsp. lemon juice 2 tsp. salt, or less 1/2 tsp. garlic powder Pressure cook beans in water for 10 hour and 15 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cook uncovered in crockpot for 8 hours on high setting, or bake uncovered in oven at 300 degrees for 6 hours, or at 350 degrees for 3 hours. (The slower the better!). Guest guest
I live above 5400 feet, so pressure cooking for an hour 15 could be appropriate. I think my average is 45-50 on pino/black/white beans. less on smaller more on larger. Does a vegan pressure cooking list exist? _______________________________ Declare Yourself - Register online to vote today! http://vote. Guest guest
Well, if a vegan pressure cooking list doesn't exist, we should start one! I've been thinking of doing that, but just haven't gotten around to it. If there's enough interest, though, I will. I do have to point out that VegSource has a pressure cooking board. Not that many recipes are posted to it, though--mostly references to page numbers in Lorna Sass' pressure cooking cookbooks. You can take a look at it at http://www.vegsource.com/talk/pressure/. Also check out the pressure cooking section at http://www.fatfreevegan.com/pressure/index.shtml. Susan
Guest guest
(Pressure Cooker group?? Me, me -- I'm interested! Sadly, while I adore Vegsource, by some terrible mixup my ISP was banned a few years ago when they were having problems with hacking. Despite my repeated attempts to resolve this problem of 'mistaken identity' (I'm not guilty!!!), I still am unable to post anywhere on the site ........) - Susan Voisin Thursday, October 14, 2004 4:43 PM Re: baked beans > Well, if a vegan pressure cooking list doesn't exist, we should start one! Guest guest
> Let us know if you do. > > Laurie I did it! I searched through all 144 vegan groups to make sure there wasn't already a pressure cooking list, and there wasn't, so I created one. You can join it by going to veganpc/ (the PC stands for pressure cooking!) For those of you who don't know me, I already run 3 groups--the Fatfree Vegan recipes list (and website), the Eat to Live list, and the new vegetarian discussion list Planet Eggplant. So, I don't really have time for another list, but I do like pressure cooking and feel there should be a list for it. Hope some of you can join me there! Guest guest
I can post there, but if I try to post something about another website to help someone with a question, and vegsource doesn't host it, they forbid me to post it. I always thought it was about helping people, but clearly it's not just that, to them. So I've decided not to post there anymore. Oh well. cherrie On Fri, 15 Oct 2004 17:12:02 -0400, Julie <jskabubble wrote: > How many of us are unable to post to vegsource?
